Muscle car

This 1966 Pontiac GTO is an example of a classic muscle car
Muscle car is a term used to refer to a variety of high-performance automobiles. The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines muscle cars as "any of a group of American-made 2-door sports coupes with powerful engines designed for high-performance driving."Usually, a large V8 engine is fitted in a 2-door, rear wheel drive, family-style mid-size or full-size car designed for four or more passengers. Sold at an affordable price, muscle cars are intended for mainly street use and occasional drag racing. They are distinct from two-seat sports cars and expensive 2+2 GTs intended for high-speed touring and road racing. Developed simultaneously in their own markets, muscle cars also emerged from manufacturers in Australia, South Africa, the United Kingdom, and elsewhere.

According to Muscle Cars, a book written by Peter Henshaw,
a "muscle car" is "exactly what the name implies. It is a product of the American car industry adhering to the hot rodder's philosophy of taking a small car and putting a BIG engine in it. The Muscle Car is Charles Atlas kicking sand in the face of the 98 hp (73 kW) weakling."Henshaw further asserts that the muscle car was designed for straight-line speed, and did not have the "sophisticated chassis", "engineering integrity", or "lithe appearance" of European high-performance cars.
However, opinions vary as to whether high-performance full-size cars, compacts, and pony cars qualify as muscle cars.

HUMMER

HUMMER

Hummer H1

The first vehicle in the Hummer range was the Hummer H1, based on the Humvee. Originally released in 1992, this vehicle was designed by American Motors' AM General subsidiary for the U.S. Military. Five years previously, AMC had been bought by Chrysler.

Hummer H2

The Hummer H2 was the second vehicle in the Hummer range. There were two variations: The H2 SUV and H2 SUT.

Hummer H3

The H3 was the smallest of the Hummer models and is based on the GMT355 platform shared with the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon compact pickup trucks.
Hummer concept car

The Hummer HX was developed in 2008 as an open-air, two-door off-road concept car, smaller than other Hummer models.

Plug-in Hybrid
Raser Technologies of Utah was to use technology similar to that in the Chevy Volt. Raser unveiled the prototype the 2009 Society of Automotive Engineers World Congress in Detroit.[30] Using their E-REV (Extended-Range Electric Vehicle) powertrain technology, the Hummer plug-in hybrid would run up to 40 miles per day on its battery alone, then a small 4-cylinder internal combustion engine would  start to generate more electricity.........

FORD GT

The 1966 Ford GT-40 became known as the "Ferrari Killer" after stunning upsets in the '66 24 Hrs of LeMans - it took the first three positions in a race that the Europeans proudly felt that Americans could never compete in. The modern-day supercar Ford GT was built in limited numbers for the 2005 and 2006 model year only - there will be no production from 2007 or in 2008 and while some claim there is a 2004 model, it was really the concept car. While the Ford GT40 was busy in the late 60's defeating contemporary race cars, the Ford GT today quickly and efficiently dominates it's competition in the Porsche and Ferrari of today!

The Ford GT is an American legend and certainly one of the most agressive and smoothest looking muscle cars ever. Most people define it as a sports car, but I like to define it as an American Muscle Car. The Ford GT really brings out the true colors of America and what the country is about - hard work and muscle! Recently, famous car publisher and appraiser Dave Kinney predicted that the 2005 and 2006 Ford GT are destined to become the hottest sellers are car auctions because demand for the $150,000 supercar was simply never filled, especially with it remaining so coveted in Europe. Car collectors are being told to keep a sharp eye on the Ford GT as a perennial contender for the most sought-after on the market!

Speaking of colors - which are available on the Ford GT? Probably the most recognizable shade is the striking Mark IV Red, along with Centennial White, Quick Silver, Midnight Blue, Mark II Black, and the stunning Screaming Yellow. Some owners choose the authentic Gulf livery colors as well. All color schemes include optional racing stripes in various shades.

Stay tuned as we add fresh content and new images of the awesome Ford GT, as well as the "other" Ford muscle car - the Mustang! We're not the official Ford GT website, but we do promise to provide plenty of relevant info and pics as they become available.

Recent visitors have come from Lake Worth, Florida, West Palm Beach, Los Angeles, New York, Houston and Dallas, Texas, Atlanta and San Francisco, California to buy or get more information on Ford GT and GT40 for sale, Ford GTX1, and the new 2006 Ford GT sports car.

LAMBORGHINI....GALLARDO....

A really 'RAGING BULL'

 A dream car....
The Lamborghini Gallardo is a sports car built by Lamborghini. The Gallardo is Lamborghini's most-produced model to date, with over 10,000 built in its first seven years of production.
The car is named after a famous breed of fighting bull.

The Gallardo offers two choices of transmissions, a conventional (H-Box) six-speed manual transmission, and an advanced six-speed electro-hydraulically controlled semi-automatic robotized manual, which Lamborghini abbreviates to "E-gear".
The "E-gear" allows the driver to make shifts much faster than a manual transmission would. The driver shifts up and down via paddles behind the steering wheel, but can also change into automatic mode.

For the MY2006 it launched. These were derived from the limited edition Gallardo SE. The exhaust system was changed to a more sporty one (including a flap to make it quieter around town), the suspension was revised and a new steering rack was fitted, the engine power was increased by 20 bhp to a maximum of 512 brake horsepower (382 kW), the biggest change was an overall lowering of the gearing especially in 1st to 5th.

the extra power and lower gearing turned an already fast car into a seriously quick one.

The Audi R8 sports car, launched in early 2007, is based on the Gallardo platform, and uses a 4.2 litre V8 in place of the Gallardo's V10 to avoid competing directly with the Gallardo. In December 2008, Audi unveiled a V10 Audi R8, with a detuned version of the Gallardo's engine, placed between the R8 V8 and the Gallardo.

For the 2008 model year, features added to the Gallardo included an onboard computer, iPod connectivity with USB, heated mirrors, Q-citura stitching that originally could only be found on the Nera model, and a beige soft-top on the Spyder.

LAMBORGHINI......."A Raging Bull"

Lamborghini S.p.A.
commonly referred to as Lamborghini is an Italian car manufacturer. The company was founded by manufacturing magnate Ferruccio Lamborghini in 1963, with the objective of producing a refined grand touring car to compete with established offerings from marques like other cars.

The company's first models were released in the mid-1960s, and were noted for their refinement, power and comfort.
Lamborghini gained wide acclaim in 1966 for the Miura sports coupé, which established mid-engine design as the standard layout for high-performance cars of the era. After a decade of rapid growth, hard times befell the company in the mid-1970s, as sales plunged in the wake of the 1973 world financial downturn and oil crisis. After going through bankruptcy and three changes in ownership, Lamborghini came under the corporate umbrella of the Chrysler Corporation in 1987. The American company failed to return the automaker to profitability and sold it to Indonesian interests in 1994. Lamborghini's lack of success continued through the 1990s, until the company was sold in 1998 to Audi, a subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, a German automotive concern. Audi's ownership marked the beginning of a period of stability and increased productivity for Lamborghini, with sales increasing nearly tenfold over the course of the 2000s, peaking in record sales in 2007 and 2008. The world financial crisis in the late 2000s negatively affected luxury car makers worldwide, and saw Lamborghini's sales drop back to pre-2006 levels.

Assembly of Lamborghini cars continues to take place at the automaker's ancestral home in Sant'Agata Bolognese, where engine and automobile production lines run side-by-side at the company's single factory. Fewer than 3,000 cars roll off the production line each year. The flagship V12-powered Murciélago coupé and roadster were discontinued at the end of 2010. Its successor, the Lamborghini Aventador, was released on 28 February 2011.
